When it comes to ultimate concentration and writing, it is no question that food can play a big part. As writers and creatives, it is important to be mindful of our food so we can sustain energy, ideas, and inspiration. High vibrational foods will keep your creative and intuitive juices flowing. Sometimes when I am writing, snacking comes with the process. This is not the best habit to have, but I’ve started to be more mindful of my snacks.
Vitamins B6 and B12 – The B vitamins play an important role in brain function such as brain power and memory function. If you have a deficiency in these vitamins, it can lead to a decrease in overall brain function.
Try: Walnuts, sunflower seeds, almonds, collard greens, avocado, and brown rice.
Antioxidants -When free radicals enter the bloodstream they will also break down the brain cells. This is very common within the elder population. Foods that are high in antioxidants will fight off the free radicals and protect your body and brain.
Try: Berries, green and white tea, garlic, tomatoes, spinach and sweet potatoes. If you like to include herbs in your food try cinnamon, cloves, dried oregano leaf and turmeric powder.
Fiber–Fiber is known to slow down sugar absorption to the brain. There are many foods that have fiber that are also known to help healthy brain function.
Try: Flaxseed, barley, broccoli, black-eyed peas, raisins, and prunes.
You can’t go wrong with these foods. They help your brain and overall health.
